Driving sustainable change
Committed to a more sustainable mobility future
As the world increasingly recognises the importance of protecting our planet, manufacturers are turning their focus towards their own impact, and what must be done to minimise it.
As a global leader in brake friction manufacture, TMD Friction is committed to being the change and leading the drive towards manufacturing products in a greener way.

Pioneers in environmental standards
TMD Friction was instrumental in the development of a set of ecological and environmental classification standards for friction tables called the ECO Table. Today, the table is a universally recognised standard. All of the products we offer are in line with environmental requirements which are constantly being improved.
During the manufacturing process, we have developed links with simulation technologies to reduce energy wastage. These measures are a key part of achieving our long-term goal of reducing our energy consumption.
We are also currently part of the working group developing a suitable approach as the basis for new Euro 7 standards for brake emissions.
Committed to cleaner braking
All of our regions are working to reduce their emissions and energy usage, and transition to renewable energy. As an example, we have already signed a long-term partnership with Iberdrola to power our German facilities with renewable energy from 2027. This was the first in a long line of agreements to ensure we fulfil our renewable energy goals.
Transforming the supply chain
We’re committed to reaching sustainability goals together with our logistics partners.
-
01. 10% reduction in logistics carbon emissions by 2040
To achieve this, we plan to evaluate routes for the goods that are transported worldwide every day and optimise our supply chain.
-
02. 100% recyclable packaging by 2040
This will be accomplished by redesigning our product packaging so that it can be returned to the material cycle.
